Dynamic Duo Enjoying Huge Increase in Popularity
Though hip-hop′s Dynamic Duo has been around for a while, the members have been enjoying a great deal more popularity, thanks to a new album and hardcore promotions.
Since they were discharged from the military in August, the duo has been busier than ever, appearing on various entertainment programs and promoting its album.
Dynamic Duo made a comeback with its title track Burning Friday off its sixth studio album Digilog 2/2 in November. Extraordinarily, the duo released two studio albums within one month, and became a hot topic for its new musical flavor, with lyrics closely describing daily life and songs that deftly combined digital and analog music.
Its title song Without You swept all music sites, knocking down the stronghold that was IU, who has held onto the top spot for 35 consecutive days with You and I as well as pushing aside idol groups including T-ara and Teen Top who recently released new songs.
Furthermore, Pledge of Love featuring Dynamic Duo, which was unveiled through MBC’s Infinity Challenge: I Am a Singer Too, has ranked at the top of various music charts with other songs sung by the program’s cast members.
Their success hasn′t been limited to just its album. The duo won the Christmas special of KBS2’s Immortal Song 2 and also appeared on ultra-popular entertainment program Infinity Challenge.
The two programs became venues for the members, who′ve honed their abilities through over 400 concerts, to prove themselves as musicians and to communicate with viewers through a larger stage.
Dynamic Duo′s appearance on the popular TV programs also managed to significantly drive up interest in its upcoming concert.
A rep from its agency, Amoeba Culture, told enews on January 9, “Inquiries on the upcoming 2012 Amoebahood Concert, to be held at the end of January, are flooding in. Since the duo made a comeback from a long hiatus, fans as well as insiders in the industry have high expectations for the duo’s dynamic performances and repertoire during the concert.”
Dynamic Duo said, “What with prepping for the album, variety show appearances, and preparing for our concert, this is the busiest we′ve been, but we′re still so happy. While actively engaging in music and concerts, we′ll carry on the history of music in 2012 as well.”
