1. SNSD Makes a Big Return
After whetting fans′ appetites last week, SNSD officially made its return this week, releasing its new album and title song music video on January 1.
Unsurprisingly, the music video for I Got a Boy immediately began racking up millions of views, while the title song itself made an all-kill on the charts in Korea and hit number one on various iTunes charts abroad.
The group’s comeback special on MBC didn’t bring very high ratings but was good enough to gather more viewers than both G-Dragon’s and BoA’s respective comeback specials last year.

Stars Falling Flat
1. Ko Young Wook Investigated For Allegedly Molesting Another Minor
Ko Young Wook hit the headlines once again after reports revealed that he had been summoned once more by the police for questioning on a new molestation charge.
The charge came from yet another minor, this time a middle school girl, who alleges Ko Young Wook lured her into his car in early December before molesting her.
The police have since finished questioning both sides and also looked into CCTV camera recordings from the area on the day in question and are expected to reveal results soon.
The consequences, if this new case is proven true, could prove dire for the entertainer who is already battling charges for having illicit sex with a minor in 2012.

2. Dating Scandals Run Wild
One of the first bombshells of the New Year was made on January 1 after a news outlet published paparazzi photos of what appeared to be Kim Tae Hee and Rain on a date.
After much chatter from the press and netizens, Kim Tae Hee’s agency finally confirmed the two stars were love interests and that the two are currently getting to know each other.
Following in the heels of the Kim Tae Hee-Rain couple, Oh Yeon Seo and Lee Jang Woo were also outed this week as a pair after paparazzi photos of the two stars on a date were published on January 3.
Oh Yeon Seo’s agency also stepped forward to confirm the two were seeing each other but stressed the two were still getting to know each other.
Dating rumors between Big Bang’s G-Dragon and model Kiko Mizuhara also flared up once more this week after photos suggesting that the two had spent Christmas together in Phuket surfaced.
Piecing together tweets from G-Dragon, his friend Harry Kim as well as photos and information from regular citizens, netizens deduced that one netizen’s picture proved G-Dragon and Kiko Mizuhara had spent Christmas together at a posh resort in Phuket.

3. Rain Gets Investigated By the Military
Rain also dominated much of the headlines this week, outside of his confirmed dating status with Kim Tae Hee, over allegations he was given special privileges in the army.
After news and photos of Rain’s frequent dates with Kim Tae Hee and overnight leaves were reported, netizens began voicing their suspicion that the singer had receiving preferential treatment as it seemed the entertainer was receiving far more leave time than the average soldier.
Also at issue was the fact that Rain was snapped in the photos out of his military uniform, which is against military regulations.
This isn’t the first time the singer has been swept up in controversy over his leave and Korea’s Ministry of National Defense has since begun looking into the matter.
