Kara Sports Abs, Legs and Red Glitter on Red & White Song Battle
Kara appeared on the 62nd NHK Red & White Song Battle, the premier Japanese year-end special show, for the first time. The group put on a perfect live performance, but their tacky stage costumes were a bit of a let down.
Kara opened the second section of the show, which was held on December 31, with a special medley of Jet Coaster Love and Mister, wearing glittery red mini-dresses.
The members heated up the stage when they sang Mister, by whipping off their skirts a la Britney Spears, leaving them in nothing but hot pants and crop tops - which we′re sure the boys loved, since that meant the audience could see their well-toned abs.
Kara took to the stage of the country’s most famous year-end show in only a year and a half since their debut in Japan.
The group’s leader Park Gyuri said, “It’s honor for us to perform in 62nd NHK Red & White Song Battle, which has been my goal since my childhood.”
Netizens who saw the group’s performance reacted by saying, “Everything was good except the costumes. It looked like a 1980s dance group′s clothes,” and “It’s beyond imagination to wear such clothes in Korea.”
Meanwhile, TVXQ and Girls’ Generation also performed in the 62nd NHK Red & White Song Battle.
