B2ST Wins ‘Song of the Year’ Award at ‘KBS Music Festival’
The 2011 KBS Music Festival was a night to celebrate the year’s best in K-Pop, but it was a particularly memorable night for B2ST, whose hit Fiction was awarded Song of the Year.
The festival, which was held at the KBS Hall in Seoul on December 30, drew out the year’s hottest idol stars in droves as they performed their hit songs and a handful of special stages to close out the year.
Fans voted for the Song of the Year via text message throughout the show, and B2ST’s Fiction won with 28 percent of the votes, beating out Infinite’s Be Mine, IU’s Good Day and Girls’ Generation’s The Boys.
Infinite set off the two-part show with performances of their hits, followed by T-ara and Davichi.
B2ST was up next, and member Gi Kwang, who injured himself while exercising and has been getting around in a wheelchair, was seen sitting for the performance.
SISTAR, Lee Seung Gi, miss A, 4minute and U-Kiss also performed their hit songs, while Kim Hyun Joong covered Rain’s Rainism. The Wonder Girls, T-ara, Secret and Girls’ Generation then each performed an Uhm Jung Hwa hit for a special tribute stage, before 2PM and MBLAQ joined the singer herself for a performance of Eyes to round out the first part of the festival.
In addition to Kim Hyun Joong, the Wonder Girls, Secret, MBLAQ, f(x), TVXQ, CN Blue, IU, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior and 2PM glittering the stage with performances of their hit songs during the second part of the show, Davichi and SISTAR returned to the stage to join CN Blue and B2ST for an Immortal Song special featuring legendary singer Shim Soo Bong’s songs.
