Pledis Entertainment Confirms Impending Debut of 17-Member Boy Band

The rumors over the series of mysterious teasers from Pledis Entertainment have proven true.

Pledis Entertainment, home to K-Pop acts such as After School, NU’EST and HelloVenus, confirmed recent rumors it was on the verge of releasing a new male idol group.

Staying true to its name of ‘17’, a spokesperson for Pledis Entertaimetn shared the new idol group was comprised of seventeen male members whose ages averaged 17 years old and would be Korea’s largest male idol group.

A number of unique marketing tactics will be implemented for the group’s debut including its own online video channel, ‘17 TV’ through Korea’s largest video site, USTREAM.

The video channel will air special videos that show how the group came to be, footages of the members undergoing training and more.

After making its debut in Korea, 17 will also split into three unit groups and focus on activities in not only Korea but Japan and China as well to represent ‘Asia Pop’.

An official debut date for the group has not yet been decided but is aiming for an early 2013 debut.
