Twin trot duo Wink explained they had nothing to do with a recently reported assault case.

On December 26, there were reports that twin celebs were booked without detention for assaulting a taxi driver while under the influence of alcohol. Since the celebs were identified with only initials, netizens immediately speculated the twin celebs were the duo, as there are few twins in the industry.

But the duo responded with the announcement that it was not them.

Wink’s member Kang Seung Hee tweeted, “The twins related to the assault case is not Wink. Wink is currently filming a trot festival at KBS hall. I was surprised to hear our picture with our digitized faces was uploaded along with the report on the case. I hope people won’t misunderstand.”

A rep from the duo’s agency stated, “We were stumped by a lot of questions flooding in. Netizens might have thought they were Wink because the police said they were twins.” The rep continued, “But such a thing might prove the popularity of Wink. We’re thankful that Wink was the first to come across people′s minds at the words, twin celebs.”

Wink has recently made a comeback with its new song Oh That Guy, Really and are engaged in promotional activities.

Meanwhile, according to the Songpa police station, the twin actresses, A and B, who were involved in the case, took a taxi at 1:30 am while under the influence of alcohol. They started to interrrupt Song (the taxi driver) while driving, by putting their foot on the handles, and began to assault him when Song attempted to stop them. The two girls have reportedly appeared in films, dramas and variety shows.

But A insisted in an interview, “It is true that there was a little bickering, but it’s upsetting to hear that we assaulted the taxi driver as he maintained. He got out of the car and asked for money.”
