Kara and Girls’ Generation Rank in Top of Japanese Ringtone Chart
More Japan rankings!
Kara and Girls’ Generation were the only Korean artists to rank within the top 10 for the 2011 (charged) ringtone rankings released by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on December 21.
The chart compiled data from December 15, 2010 to December 13, 2011, almost exactly one year. That the chart gathers data not only on K-Pop, but also on all albums released within Japan in 2011, makes the results all the more meaningful.
Kara came in 6th with Mister, and 11th with Go Go Summer! Girls’ Generation’s Gee ranked 7th, while Mr. Taxi ranked 10th. In the lower ranks, Kara’s Jumping came in as no. 22, Jet Coaster Love as no. 23 and Winter Magic as no. 65, while Girls’ Generation’s Run Devil Run could be found at no. 71.
Kara and Girls’ Generation plan to continue their winning streak by appearing on the 62nd NHK Red & White Song Battle on December 31.
