[Poll] Which K-Drama is Your Current Obsession?
With some of today’s hottest young stars running the K-Drama world this season, it’s an exciting time for TV, and KBS’ highly-anticipated School 2013 and MBC’s Cheongdamdong Alice are the latest dramas, featuring all-star casts, to join the lively Monday-Tuesday and weekend drama rat races, respectively.
With so many dramas to keep track of these days (trust us, it’s not easy pumping out recaps everyday!), we wanted to unglue our eyes from the TV screen for a moment, step back and touch base with you, our readers, to find out which drama you have been obsessing over.
We definitely have our favorites, but we want to hear from you all, so read on, and be sure to let us know which K-Drama has you hooked by voting in our poll!
School 2013, the latest installment in the famed School series, may be the newbie of the bunch, having premiered on December 3, but it got right down to business, tackling real-life issues not oft talked about regarding what goes on in schools.
The in-your-face tactic seemed to resonate with viewers as it knocked SBS’ The King of Dramas out of its second place spot with its first episode. And with Jang Nara, Choi Daniel and Lee Jong Seok leading the star-studded cast, we’re not dreading school—for once.
The ‘Nation’s Little Sister’ (of the drama world, at least) Moon Geun Young made her K-Drama comeback on December 1 with SBS’ Cheongdamdong Alice, and although it was off to a slow start in terms of ratings, we’re definitely keeping our eye on this drama.
Because who doesn’t get sucked into the cliché Cinderella story once in a while? I mean, we’re all Korean drama lovers here, right? And Park Shi Hoo as Prince Charming? Count us in.
After School member Uee has returned to the drama world with a vengeance, and she’s not only kicking butt on screen, alongside costar Cha Tae Hyun, the drama is scoring well in viewership ratings, currently leading in its Wednesday-Thursday timeslot.
Fusion historical dramas are on trend, so it comes as no surprise that this drama is leading the pack. But does the drama have you spellbound?
I Miss You
MBC’s I Miss You definitely knows drama, as no episode has gone by without a major tearjerker moment. (Although we do wonder sometimes if the characters cry more than we do).
The drama may be trailing behind its competition Woochi, but it has safely crossed the two-digit mark in viewership ratings, and with names like JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun, Yun Eun Hye and Yoo Seung Ho leading the drama, we haven’t written it off just yet.
The King of Dramas
Although the SBS drama isn’t quite living up to its name in viewership ratings, where there is a Super Junior member, there is hope.
Super Junior’s Choi Siwon currently stars in the drama within a drama alongside Jung Ryeo Won and Kim Myung Min that takes viewers behind the scenes of the K-Drama world.
With the production team currently in negotiations to extend the drama’s run, there’s still time for The King of Dramas to overthrow its competition.
My Daughter Seo Young
No wonder CN Blue’s Lee Jung Shin is loving life right now.
Not only is he the star of KBS’ My Daughter Seo Young, playing youngest son and high school student Kang Sung Jae, the drama has been ruling over the weekend drama ratings.
So, we know many of you are staying in to tune in to the drama every weekend, but is it your favorite?
There′s certainly plenty of dramas (and pretty boy actors) to keep us entertained this season, but which drama is a must-see? Let us know by voting!
