Busker Busker′s Jang Bum June Denies Disbandment Rumors
Busker Busker member Jang Bum June denied rumors that the band would be breaking up.
"I was taken aback at the disbandment articles. We (Busker Busker) do not intend to break up," Jang Bum June told enews on December 4.
He added, "The members have agreed that this year we will be on hiatus and then next year we′ll return to music as Busker Busker. I didn′t know my appearing alone on an internet show would bring on such misunderstandings."
Jang Bum June recently appeared on a show hosted by his old friend, the indie musician Park Kyung Goo, on the internet broadcasting service Afreeca TV. He sang a new song titled A New Song with Immature Lyrics, sparking suspicions that he was planning to go on his own solo route.
A source close to Jang Bum June, however, said, "Those who knew Jang Bum June from when he was active in the internet community Busker Busker will know that it′s not new at all to see him appear on Park Kyung Goo′s show."
After it became the runner-up of Mnet′s Superstar K3 in 2011, Busker Busker became one of the biggest bands in K-Pop with the successes of its first studio album Busker Busker and its mini album Busker Busker First Album Wrapup. It entered a hiatus after last performing at the encore concert for its exclusive concert Youth Bus.
Most recently, the band won the Best New Male Artist Award and the Best Band Performance Award at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards held in Hong Kong.
