IU Donates 10 Million Won to Her Alma Mater
It has become known that IU showed her love for her juniors by donating 10 million won to her alma mater.
The singer graduated from Dongduk Girls′ High School early 2012. After her graduation, in October, IU donated 10 million won to her school through her agency for book purchase purposes.
The school seemed to be wary of spreading the news, in case unexpected harm would come to IU.
A source from the school told enews on December 4, "It is true that she donated 10 million won for school development. IU used to be a member of the book club at school, and so she donated 10 million won to go towards purchasing books. She also said she wishes to continue paying tuition for juniors in need."
The source added, "Ever since her graduation IU has showed that she wants to donate money to the school′s development fund. We′re wary about the news becoming known, however, because there are people who take good deeds unkindly."
IU has regularly donated money to those in need. She has donated profits from some of her songs such as It′s First Love, Believe in Love and Frozen Flowers, and also those from the fanmeeting celebrating the 1004th day since her debut and her appearance in the Multicultural Family Hope Concert.
