U-Kiss Sells 20,000 Copies of Debut Single in Japan
U-Kiss is leading a new wave in Japan.
The group made its official debut in Japan with single Tick Tack, nabbing third place on the Oricon chart on the day of its release and the top spot in record sales on Tower Records Japan.
All 20,000 copies of the single in stock have been sold on Tower Records, Japan’s largest album distributor, which is an unusual feat.
A representative from U-Kiss’ agency in Japan, Avex, said, “The results of this single album are a remarkable achievement and have exceeded our expectations.” The rep continued, “We will put everything into U-Kiss’ star strategy from now on.”
Following the release of its debut single, U-Kiss will release a second single in February of next year, along with a studio album, before kicking off a nationwide tour of Japan in March.
