Roy Kim Thanks His Fans Before the Final Episode of ′Superstar K4′
Before the final episode of Mnet′s Superstar K4 is due to announce the final winner of the season, Roy Kim took some time to tip his hat to his fans for all the support they′ve shown him.
Through the Superstar K4 producers, Roy Kim said, "I always wanted to communicate with others through music rather than keep it as a personal hobby. Through Superstar K4, I learned the power of music and the emotions that follow when I use it to communicate."
He also touched on how moved he was after his guerilla concert that took place in Daegu on November 21.
"I was surprised at the big crowd that gathered there, and they all sang along to October Rain too. It didn′t show but I was very thankful," he said in thanks.
He also said he enjoyed singing It′s Been a While the most.
"I enjoyed it so much," he said. "It was a performance in which I could sing carefree."
"I don′t choose the song and then choose the concept; I choose the concept and then the song for every broadcast. I tried to practice mind control to loosen up before each performance, and whenever I went onstage I tried my hardest to enjoy being there. I think that′s what got me the favorable reviews," he added.
About how it feels to be a finalist on the show, he said, "At first my goal was to make it to the top 12, next it was the top 4. I can′t believe I′ve made it to the finals. I′m very close with the DickPunks hyungs (big brothers) but this is a chance of a lifetime. I′ll work hard and aim to win after performing without regrets. I hope to see your support, and I want to tell everyone who likes me that I love them."
Roy Kim aims to be a folk rock singer. He said his favorite singers are Kim Gwang Suk, Lee Moon Sae, Damien Rice, Jason Mraz and James Morrison, and added he wants to sing songs rooted in the genre, which is known for conveying its lyrics effectively, in the future.
The final decision on whether Roy Kim will become the superstar of the season will be made on the last episode of Superstar K4, to air on November 23.
