Lee Hi just keeps turning out the surprises, as YG Entertainment has announced the single will be a piece composed by JYP Entertainment rep Park Jin Young.

On November 21, a day before the single is due to be released, YG Entertainment announced that "Lee Hi′s new single will be a ballad written by Park Jin Young."

The news is, of course, surprising in that the project will be a cross-agency project, involving yet another YG singer and JYPE producer collaboration following Park Jin Young′s previous work with Se7en.

SBS K-Pop Star winner Park Ji Min and second runner up Baek Ah Yeon′s debut single weren′t composed by Park Jin Young although the two are signed with the agency.

This makes Lee Hi the first K-Pop Star contestant to sing a song composed by Park Jin Young.

A rep from YG Entertainment said on the subject, "We can′t reveal any details about the single because agency rep Yang Hyun Suk has been taking charge of everything related to Lee Hi himself and is keeping things under wraps."

"The single to be released on November 22 will not have a music video. For her promotions set to start early December, she will also not wear any fancy costumes or have dancers dancing behind her," the rep added.

The upcoming new image shows Yang Hyun Suk wants Lee Hi to take on the scene armed only with her unique voice color and vocals.

The rep also added, "I believe he wants to emphasize that it′s more important to have good music and vocals rather than good looks to succeed as a singer. We didn′t even take new photos for Lee Hi. The cover art for the new single will include a drawing that Lee Hi drew herself."

Lee Hi′s new JYP-written ballad single will be released at noon on November 22 (KST).
