Lee Joon Gi Signs Contract with IMX

Lee Joon Gi announced he would be taking new steps into the world by signing a contract with a new agency before his release from the military in 2012.

A rep from Interactive Media Mix (IMX) told enews on December 9, “IMX signed an exclusive contract with actor Lee Joon Gi, who will be released on February 16. He will join with IMX to fly anew toward Asia.”

IMX celebrated its 10th anniversary in November. It started Japan’s first Korean drama internet service in 2002, and established a branch in Korea in 2004. It distributes a variety of Korean cultural content, and is famous for successfully landing top Korean actors in Japan.

Head CEO Son Il Hyung of IMX stated, “We’re thinking very highly of Lee Joon Gi’s potential as an entertainer that can fit in all genres. We plan to develop with Lee Joon Gi, using our 10 years of experience on mixing media such as concerts, and our content business that will use foreign networks to spread Korean content across Asia.”

A representative for Lee Joon Gi said, “We’ve received many love calls from various agencies, but we decided to work as business partners with IMX, which is stable inside and outside the country, in order to launch [Lee] anew as an Asian star.
