Han Ji Min Likes Her Co-star Jung Woo Sung
Han Ji Min opened up on how she felt about working with Jung Woo Sung in the jTBC mini-series Padam Padam...The Sound of His and Her Heartbeats.
At the Padam Padam press conference held on November 30 in Seoul, Han appeared with Jung Woo Sung, Kim Bum, Choi Tae Jun, Kim Min Kyung and Lee Jae Woo to talk about how they felt about being cast in the drama.
When asked about her teamwork with Jung Woo Sung, Han answered, “There are many women who look up to the film Beat. I was one of them.”
Beat is a 1997 film which stars Jung Woo Sung and Go So Young, and was especially popular among teenagers. Han said, “Because the drama was strongly melodramatic, who would be my costar was very important. I feel great that I would be working with Jung Woo Sung.”
In Padam Padam, Han Ji Min will take on the role of veterinarian Jung Ji Na, and Jung Woo Sung will become Yang Gang Chil, who was released from prison after serving 16 years for a murder he was framed for. The drama gathered much attention for being Jung’s first comeback piece after his breakup with E Jiah, and for bringing together the best stars as its main leads.
Han said, “Before, [Jung Woo Sung] felt like a person inside the screen, but now that I’ve met him in person, he’s a humane, friendly and kind person. He talks loudly on set and cares for everything the staff does. Because I don’t have a cute personality, I just follow along.”
“I’ve starred in traditional or historical dramas until now, and all I did [with my partner] was hold hands,” she added. “I heard that the love scenes for Padam Padam are much deeper. I’m looking forward to it.”
Padam Padam is writer Noh Hee Kyung’s new drama, and tells the touching story of a man who lives when he wants to die but is destined to die when he wants to live. The first episode will air on December 5.
