Chinese Media Outlet Ridicules Miss Koreas with Plastic Surgery Claims
One Chinese media outlet has stepped forth to ridicule the Miss Koreas awarded at the 56th Miss Korea Pageant held in July.
Sohu Yule quoted Korean netizen opinions in a piece issued on October 9, and said, "The Miss Koreas are under suspicion of undergoing plastic surgery. Some even have very similar noses, leading others to say that perhaps they received surgery from the same surgeon."
The article supported its claims with screencaps of the Miss Koreas appearing in an episode of MBC′s I Am a Singer in July.
The screencaps showed the three top Miss Koreas including Kim Yoo Mi. They emphasized the noses of the three figures, and insisted that their noses were the same.
It introduced Kim Yoo Mi as "the Miss Korea that won the pageant after beating out 53 fellow contestants," but then added, "Photos of her past sprang up, putting her under suspicion of receiving plastic surgery, and she herself acknowledged that she hadn′t been born with her current looks."
The article then scoffed, "It′s not supposed to be a reunion of nose relatives, is it?"
It did, however, have much praise to give for Lee Jung Bin, who had come in second place. It said, "Lee Jung Bin was praised even when photos from when she was still a student were released, and proved she was a natural born beauty with looks that were exactly the same."
