Appeal by 8 Members of Tajinyo Rejected and Declared Guilty Ending Tablo′s Controversy
At long last, it seems the drawn-out saga behind Tajinyo and Epik High’s Tablo has come to an end.
On October 10, the Seoul Central District Court held a verdict hearing regarding eight members of ‘Tajinyo’ for circulating rumors that Tablo had faked his educational background and credentials.
In the hearing, Chief Judge, Park Kwang Keun dismissed the appeal of a Mr. Song and seven others who had initially been found guilty in their first trial. A Ms. Park from among the ‘Tajinyo’ members seeking an appeal of the initial ruling due to her young age and skin condition was the only one to find her sentence partially reduced . She will instead be placed on two years probation with the possibility of a ten months, and maximum two years imprisonment, should she commit another crime during her probation period and be required to carry out 200 hours of community service.
In his ruling, Judge Park Kwang Keun declared the members had clearly committed a criminal act in an impure motive, and dismissed the appeal of the initial guilty ruling by the other members, aside from Ms. Song, as groundless.
He continued, “Despite the victim suffering a degradation of his value and dignity, the criminal defendants acted rashly by continuing to maintain the victim had faked his credentials and threatening to unveil what they claimed was the truth and as such, a punishment is unavoidable.”
Three of the Tajinyo members will be sentenced to 10 months of imprisonment right away, while the other members will be placed on two years probation and may finally put an end to the two years dramatic ordeal Tablo has undergone at the hands of the perpetrators.
