Kara Sells More Than 500,000 Copies of Debut Japanese Album

Kara’s debut single album has sold more than 500,000 copies in Japan.

The group’s agency DSP Media revealed to enews on November 22, “More than 500,000 copies (501,999) of Kara’s Girl Talk, which was released last December, have been shipped out as of November 18.”

Orders for the single album, which sold more than 10,000 copies during the first week of release and was certified gold, are continuing to roll in one year later, surpassing the 500,000 mark in records sold and confirming Kara’s popularity.

Furthermore, more than 360,000 copies of the girls’ upcoming second Japanese album have been preordered.

The second album Super Girl contains three pre-released Japanese tracks Jet Coaster Love, Go Go Summer and Winter Magic as well as songs from the group’s third Korean album and Japanese versions of its previous hits.

Meanwhile, Kara will attend the 53rd Japan Record Awards on December 30, where hit song Go Go Summer has been nominated for the Best Song Award.
