Jung Woo Sung talked about what he′ll be looking for as the judge for the ′New Currents′ section in the 17th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

The press conference for the section was held on October 5. Executive Lee Yong Gwan and judges Bela Tarr from Hungary, David Gilmour from Canada, Jung Woo Sung and Kawase Naomi from Japan were in attendance.

Jung Woo Sung said, "It′s been a long time since I′ve attended BIFF, and it′s meaningful that I′m attending this year not as an actor, but as a judge. It′s an opportunity for me to look back on how films deliver messages to others."

He will be judging for the New Currents section, which introduces experimental new films to the public, along with other big figures in the world.

When asked whether he has any specific standards, he said, "I have no real standards. It′s actually impossible to have such standards."

He added, "Each film is an invitation to another world. They touch hearts and draw sympathy from others depending on how persuading and organized the director′s world is. I will choose the film that manages to give off such emotions."

He finished, "I′ll be judging three films today and tomorrow, and four on the last day. I do love movies, but it′s the first time I′ll be watching them for such a long time. It′ll be a new type of experience and a new challenge for me."
