Police Say Comedian Assault Case Has Been Closed
The police refused to open up on the case in which a comedian used violence against his wife and was booked without detention, saying it was a personal matter.
A rep from the Mapo Police Agency told enews, "The investigation ended on the day it started. We can′t talk about the specifics."
On October 1, the Mapo Police Agency summoned the comedian who attacked his wife in his car on September 30 for an investigation on the incident.
According to the police, the comedian attacked his wife while talking over family issues, and police were called shortly after.
The rep said, "It′s a personal affair between the couple; if this continues to be reported on, [the comedian] will come to harm. It is true that they quarrelled with raised voices. The police were brought in to investigate in the process."
When press asked whether the comedian had indeed attacked his wife, the rep answered, "The case has already been closed. We can′t confirm any such facts due to personal privacy issues."
The rep finished, "It′s a complicated case because it is tied with personal family issues. The investigation has already ended, and the case has been closed. We hope the case doesn′t spread any farther."
The comedian himself recently denied attacking his wife in an interview with a media outlet.
