Lee Byung Hun to Attend BIFF for ′Masquerade′
Lee Byung Hun suddenly returned to Korea in order to attend the 17th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
An agency rep told enews, "Lee Byung Hun returned to Korea on September 25. He plans to attend BIFF, which will take place in Busan from October 4."
The actor plans to attend not only the red carpet event on October 4, but also the APAN Blue Carpet, Masquerade Booth and fanmeeting events to follow in order to promote Masquerade.
Since it premiered on September 13, Masquerade has gathered until September 25 3,541,714 moviegoers.
Its audience trend has been similar to that of The Thieves which gathered 12 million, bringing officials to expect Masquerade to come close with over 10 million.
Lee Byung Hun′s sudden return is said to be related to this possibility.
One official said, "Lee Byung Hun has shown some great attachment to the film. He even asked permission from the producers of Red, which is filming in Canada, to return to Korea."
Masquerade is expected to surpass 5 million before Chuseok. Many officials are looking forward to whether Lee Byung Hun′s promotions at BIFF will lead Masquerade to a successful 10 million.
