Ryu Si Won Couple Enters Divorce Lawsuit after Failing to Reach Agreement

The Coordinative Board of the Seoul Family Court, in charge of the Ryu Si Won′s couple′s divorce suit, ordered both sides on September 10 to enter family investigations.

One expert told enews, "That they′ve arrived at family investigations means they′ve failed to reach an agreement in the divorce. In other words, they′ll be entering a divorce suit now. The two will go to the investigator and proceed with the investigation, after which they′ll turn in their reports to the judge. It′s one process in divorce suits."

In October 2010, Ryu Si Won wed his wife, who is 10 years younger. He announced it was a shotgun marriage, soon welcoming the birth of his daughter Hyun Seo in the spring of 2011. In March, however, Ryu Si Won′s wife turned in a request to mediate their divorce to the court, implying the end of their year and a half old relationship.

His wife especially took a strong stance against Ryu Si Won, even turning in a demand on September 17 to see the records of Ryu Si Won′s credit cards.

It seemed she wished to turn in meaningful information and evidence regarding the case before it exploded into a full lawsuit.

The expert added, "Such actions mean the case is well underway."

Many evaluate that the suit won′t end anytime soon, as Ryu Si Won holds property worth over 10 billion won and the two disagree over the division of that property as well as the custody over their daughter.
