[Star of the Week] CN Blue and Spotlight Drama Moments
We never imagined that CN Blue would kick butt in another place other than the music stage. But they proved us wrong when all four members suddenly started appearing in our favorite dramas and impressing us with their not-as-awkward-as-we-thought-it-would-be acting.
Here are some moments we chose that spotlight each member in their respective dramas.
Jung Yong Hwa as Kang Shin Woo
He was the one who started the acting trend in CN Blue, when he came out as the sweet second lead in SBS’ You’re Beautiful.
We personally have a thing for second leads, and Jung Yong Hwa made the perfect second lead that made us absolutely fall in love, picking him over Jang Keun Suk until the end of the series. Of course, nothing good happens with second leads and Jung Yong Hwa’s case in You’re Beautiful was no different.
But we were lucky enough to witness all the beautiful and sweet things he did for Park Shin Hye before it was all over.
From saving her from naked boys in the locker room to chasing after Park Shin Hye in the busy streets of Myungdong and treating her anonymously, Jung Yong Hwa tugged on our heartstrings and made us wish we all had a boyfriend like him.
Lee Jong Hyun as Collin
Lee Jong Hyun caused quite the conflict in SBS’ A Gentleman’s Dignity when he appeared as the mysterious Collin, the long-lost son of one of the four gentlemen (not saying who, just in case some people didn’t watch the drama yet).
Lee Jong Hyun appeared once in awhile in each episode, but still made a strong impression, being the wisecrack teenager kid we would love to smack on the back of his head, but one of the best Collin scenes was when he performs My Love at the Hongdae playground. This was Lee Jong Hyun’s shining moment in the entire drama series, and it was wonderfully done with his prickly, you-little-punk kind of acting when he reveals that someone is his father.
Also, we loved him before, but we completely fell head over heels when he started singing the theme song to the children’s show Dooli
Kang Min Hyuk as Cha Se Kwang
Kang Mi Hyuk blew us away in KBS’ Unexpected You.
To be honest, we didn’t know much about him except that he played the drums and was adorably sweet, but who knew what a fantastic actor he was.
As soon as he came out as Kim Nam Ju’s younger brother, he had convinced us that he really was Kim Nam Ju’s younger brother, because his acting was just flawless and spot-on.
And despite his adorable baby face, Kang Min Hyuk played a cold playboy to teach Oh Yeon Seo a lesson or two on being a good girlfriend. Of course, the plan backfires on him when he actually falls in love with her, which ends up being a problem when it’s revealed that his older sister is actually Oh Yeon Seo’s sister-in-law.
One of the highlights of Kang Min Hyuk’s acting in Unexpected You is when he gets totally jealous when Oh Yeon Seo goes on a date with another guy – coincidentally a cameo made by Lee Jung Shin, as a really suave but cheesy lady charmer.
Lee Jung Shin as Kang Sung Jae
Lee Jung Shin finally made his acting debut in KBS’ My Daughter Seo Young, which followed after Kang Min Hyuk closed off with Unexpected You.
Although the drama has only aired two episodes, we can already tell that Lee Jung Shin is going to be quite the character. As the youngest in his rich household, Lee Jung Shin’s usually used to getting what he wants, but his new tutor refuses to let him slide. And what’s the first thing he does? He runs to his mommy and whines about his teacher. We love the way he says ‘Blah, blah, blah’
Oh and another that we adore?
How he pretends to be a hard punk rocker on the outside, but secretly keeps sewing as his hobby.
There’s a lot to look forward to with Lee Jung Shin in this drama. We can hardly wait.
