TVXQ′s Max Changmin Praised by ′Run with the Gold′s′ Director for Perfect Acting
Director Izutsu Kazuyuki had high praise to give TVXQ′s (DBSK) Max Changmin as an actor.
The September 18 broadcast of Asahi TV′s morning entertainment news show Asadesu reported on the special preview for the film Run with the Gold, which was held on September 17.
Max Changmin acted as a North Korean spy Momo, who is disguised as an engineering student.
When the press asked about Max Changmin′s acting, Izutsu Kazuyuki said, "[Max Changmin] immediately picked up on things like the Osaka dialect. He was indeed a member of TVXQ," praising Max Changmin for acting perfectly with dialogue that was not only not in his mother tongue, but was also in a regional dialect.
A flower wreath from 1.2 million fans of Max Changmin that arrived at the scene this day proved also the popularity TVXQ enjoyed in the country.
Run with the Gold is a film adaptation of a mystery novel of the same title written by the bestselling author Takamura Kaoru, which won the grand prize at the 3rd Japanese Mystery Book Awards. It is about a scheme thought up by six men to steal gold in the streets of Osaka.
Director Izutsu Kazuyuki is famous for his work in the film Break Through, and the film also made issues for casting such well-known actors in Japan as Asano Tadanobu, Nishida Toshiyuki and Tsumabushi Satoshi, star of Waterboys and Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.
