The upcoming movie, which adopted its main motif from the classic children’s tale, The Prince and The Pauper, is centered on a story of a low-class person, who ends up acting as king on behalf of Gwanghaegun, the fifteenth king of the Joseon Dynasty.

Choo Chang Min who helmed Mapado and I Love You and Hwang Jo Yeon, writer of Old Boy will team up for the movie.

Lee will play the double role of the King and the plebeian, and is expected to pull off the roles with his much-lauded acting abilities, switching from a charismatic king to a person from the lowest class, to a man who simply loves his queen.

Filming will kick in early next year after details are finalized.

Meanwhile, Lee is currently in the final stages of filming the sequel to G.I.Joe in New Orleans, and plans to return home at the end of this month before going on an arena tour with 60,000 audience members in Japan at the end of this year.
