Eugene Withdraws from ‘Color of Women’ Due to Sister’s Accident
Eugene confirmed that she would be dropping out of her small screen comeback piece, Color of Women. The decision came after she received news that her sister had been involved in a car accident.
Her agency, G.G Entertainment, stated on November 13, “Eugene decided to withdraw from the upcoming Channel A drama Color of Women. She made the difficult decision believing that it would be hard for her to appear in the drama after receiving news about her sister’s accident.” Eugene’s little sister, Kim Yoo Kyung, was involved in a car accident in Guam when her car skidded down a hill. She was hurt severely, as her body was bruised and three of her spinal bones were fractured. She received emergency treatment at a local hospital, and is to be moved to a Korean hospital for treatment in the near future.
Eugene’s agency added, “While Eugene was returning from a meeting for Color of Women, she was notified of her sister’s accident. She is shocked by the news, and is currently very restless and cannot even sleep. She made the difficult decision after discussing it with the producers. We apologize and hope that fans who have been waiting for this drama will understand.”
The production company Logos Film stated, “We are very sorry that the lead actress Eugene will be leaving. We hope her sister recovers soon. We are looking for an actress who will be able to take on the role of the bold career woman Byun So Ra.”
Color of Women, a light melodrama that focuses on the competition of two women in a cosmetics company, will start airing in December.
