Stars Falling Flat

1. Big Bang’s Seungri Implicated in Sex Scandal

Fans were sent into a state of shock and anger when Japanese weekly gossip magazine, Friday, published a story on Seungri implicating him in a sex scandal and publishing semi-nude photos of him.

The piece contained an interview with a woman who alleged she had slept with Seungri, spilling some salacious details about the Big Bang member.

Many fans are choosing to take the story with a grain of salt, especially in light of the magazine’s ’hit or miss’ record, but YG Entertainment continues to remain silent on the issue.

2. T-ara Faces Quiet Crowds and Negative Album Reviews

T-ara continued to weather the turbulent storm threatening to derail the group’s career.

Another controversy blew up after a recent T-ara performance in Jeju Island was said to be met with a muted response with the group only performing Sexy Love before scuttling off stage.

The issue grew to the point that Core Contents Media stepped in to explain that the group only performed one song due to time constraints. The agency also acknowledged the crowd was largely lackluster but maintained it wasn’t due to any malicious intent.

T-ara is continuing to soldier on but with its recent album facing plummeting reviews and ratings , the debate over whether T-ara’s comeback was just too soon continues to remain a hot topic.

3. ‘Five Fingers’ Storyline Accused of Being Plagiarized

Even in the midst of a dispute with the Korean Broadcast Actors Union over T-ara’s Ham Eun Jung’s sudden departure, the headaches continued for SBS’ Five Fingers this week.

The drama became the center of controversy once again after a blogger pointed out the drama’s storyline seemingly mirrored that of a previously released novel titled, Blood Rhapsody.

Five Fingers has said it would look into the matter, but the various controversies, along with the drama’s sliding ratings, are showing this particular drama is certainly not drama-free.
