We’re one day closer to our one year anniversary, and we’re looking back on the stars who helped make enewsWorld’s launch an exciting time last year.

September 15, 2011 did not disappoint as one member of hallyu royalty addressed rumors like a true prince and one girl group stepped above the competition. However, one balladeer also proved that it’s not just idol stars who run the K-Pop scene.

[The Stars: Then & Now] Sept. 15, 2011: Jang Keun Suk Wiggled His Nose, Kara Stepped It Up, China Caught the Yoo Jae Suk Bug and More

Jang Keun Suk brushed off nose job rumors

With fame and superstardom come those pesky rumors, and hallyu star Jang Keun Suk took to the rumor mills in the best way he knows how—with confidence and wit.

Jang Keun Suk appeared on the now-defunct talk show Kneedrop Guru, where he addressed some of the rumors swirling around him, mainly the one concerning his nose.

The star proved that actions speak louder than words, putting all nose job rumors to rest in the only foolproof way—by wiggling his nose on national TV.

Nowadays, we’re trying to keep up with the busy star as he travels back and forth between Korea and Japan through his frequent, at times, bizarre Twitter updates.

What’s a few rumors when you’re a hallyu star with 20 years of showbiz experience under your belt?

Kara stepped back onto the scene

‘Tis the season for a Kara comeback!

Promotions for Kara’s latest album Pandora are currently in full swing, and it appears late August, early September is the season for a Kara comeback as the girl group splashed back
onto the scene around this time last year with album Step after being away for nearly a year.

With five years of idol star experience under its belt, from the album release date to song choice, Kara knows what works and doesn’t work for the group. All we know is that whatever the group is doing seems to work like a charm every time.

Sung Si Kyung repped ballads

Balladeer Sung Si Kyung held his own in a music world teeming with idol groups and bubbly pop songs with his seventh album First.

Like his album title, Sung Si Kyung proved he truly is an original, not only offering music fans a breath of fresh air but bumping the reigning girl groups off of the top spots on music charts.

In fact, Kara had to step down to make room for the ballad king.

Sung Si Kyung isn’t promoting any of his own new music at the moment, but he did lend his smooth vocals for Psy’s latest album.

Yoo Jae Suk wooed China

Wonder what Mr. Popular Yoo Jae Suk was doing last year? Oh, just being popular, obviously.

But the ‘Nation’s MC’ was looking to take on the rest of the world this time.

Yoo Jae Suk proved he was hallyu star material, when he and the Running Man cast drew large crowds to his filming location in Beijing.

Last we check, the funnyman is still keeping busy being popular—when he’s not singing, being a style icon
or the number one middle-aged flower man, that is.

Lee Joon Gi soldiered on

Actor Lee Joon Gi may be fighting off ghosts in drama Arang and the Magistrate right now, but just a year ago, he was soldiering on in real life, fulfilling his mandatory military duties.

Just a year ago, Lee Joon Gi was U.S.-bound to be the MC at UN Korean War Participant Country Tour Concert.

It was great to see the actor in uniform, but we’re definitely glad to have him back on screen!

That’s another day down, but stick around as we continue to go back in time with the stars!
