Despite all that controversy, Soo Ae still hasn′t given up her luxurious goods.

Though SBS’ drama A Thousand Days’ Promise has been earning high viewership ratings, with success seems to come trouble.

Though Soo Ae plays the role of an ordinary woman who’s working hard to live a standard lifestyle, under difficult circumstances, the character was seen toting expensive, often foreign, brand name bags – something viewers took immense issue with.

After, Soo Ae spoke up on the sponsored goods, saying it was a misunderstanding and most of the items were domestic products that were mistakenly identified as foreign luxury items, but promised to prevent such things from happening again.

But on the November 7-8 episodes, Soo Ae’s character was seen donning French luxury brand Lanvin’s clothes and bag – and not items from the Lanvin for Target line.

Soo Ae carries Lanvin bag worth 2 million won (top), domestic brand Time’s brown bag (middle), and Chloe bag (bottom).

On the November 1 episode, Soo Ae’s character, Seo Yeon, is seen carrying a Lanvin bag throughout the episode. Though many inquiries poured in about the brand’s bag after the broadcast, many negative comments were also logged, stating, “That Soo Ae still appears with a luxury bag is beyond understanding.”

The issue stems even deeper, as many have been criticizing the drama’s writer, Kim Su Hyun, for not caring for these small details, especially as Kim has publicly chastised other dramas for making small mistakes.

Even though many people criticized Soo Ae for using sponsored expensive items that are not fit for her character, the drama’s online board is filled with detailed information on her clothes and accessories as if Soo Ae was appearing in commercials, not a drama. To name a few, the character Seo Yeon has worn Calvin Klein, DKNY, Max Mara, Chloe and of course, Lanvin.

Meanwhile, the drama’s November 8 episode broke its own record with a 19.2 percent viewership rating according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, proving that, if anything, the controversy seems to be drawing more attention to the drama.
