Jung Jin Young revealed his philosophy behind his acting at the press conference for the upcoming KBS2 drama Brain held in Seoul on November 8. He was accompanied by lead actors Shin Ha Kyun, Choi Jung Won, Jo Dong Hyeok and director Yoo Hyun Ki, as well as comedian Song Joong Geun who hosted the conference.

Competition Isn’t the Issue for Jung Jin Young in ‘Brain’

When asked whether he was feeling any pressure about competing with SBS’s A Thousand Days’ Promise, he answered, “There is no drama that stands alone. We have to compete with dramas airing in the other channels all the time.”

Brain, despite its unique subject matter and its star-studded cast, is expected to have a hard time competing with A Thousand Days’ Promise, as it’s been consistently achieving ratings over 15 percent.

Jung said, “I don’t start on a piece expecting it to be a great success, because if it doesn’t succeed, I feel like I’d be bitter. Like always, it’s important to start off with trust. The viewers will judge us, and I believe that if we show our sincerity they’ll feel it too.”

Brain will air its first two episodes on November 14.
