Taru Joins Yellow Monsters and RossyPP′s Agency
Hongdae’s famed female singer/songwriter Taru will be signing up with the agency which also houses the popular punk rock band Yellow Monsters and Hongdae’s ‘Norah Jones’, RossyPP.
Taru recently signed her contract with Old Records, and is preparing for her year-end concert and her next album.
A rep from Old Record said, “We had our eyes on Taru since she made her debut because of her marvelously beautiful voice. We feel great that we’ve gained the chance to work with her. We will support her so that the musician can concentrate fully on her music.”
The head CEO of Old Record, Yong Won, was a former member of Korea’s best punk rock band Gumx and is currently the vocalist and guitarist of Yellow Monsters. He is known to be close with Taru, and even wrote the single Silent Dawn for her 2009 acoustic album Longing for Dawn.
Taru was the vocalist of the group The Melody from 2002 to 2007, and went solo from 2008. Some of her previous works include the mini-album Rainbow, produced by Sentimental Scenery, her first studio album Taru, produced by the Japanese pop band Swinging Popsicle, and her second studio album 100 Percent Reality, which was released in June and is comprised of songs written entirely by her.
Her voice was featured on Epik High’s 1 Minute 1 Second and Wheesung’s Love Seat, and she also sang the CF songs Paradise, Love Today, Strawberry in Love and Bling Bling, and became an issue for voicing the cute ‘Your text is here’ text alarm on the popular SBS drama Secret Garden.
