Sales of Makkoli Product Endorsed by Jang Keun Suk Surge

Jang Keun Suk’s popularity heavily influences products he endorses, but now we have furthur proof that the new Prince of Asia really has a commercial benefit.

Japanese news outlet News Post Seven reported that Santori Seoul Makkoli(rice wine), dubbed Jang Keun Suk Makkoli, placed seventh among the top 30 hit products of the year, which was released by Japan’s popular magazine Nikkei Trendy.

Sales of Makkoli Product Endorsed by Jang Keun Suk Surge

The magazine decides the hit products, which went on sale between October 2010 and September 2011, based on sales, novelty and influence. The no.1 hit product went to smartphones.

Several Korean products, aside from Santori Seoul Makkoli, made the list. Chung Jung Won’s Vinegreat Drink-Hong Cho ranked 18th, most likely on the back of Kara′s popularity. Notably, sales of Santori Seoul Makgeolli recorded a threefold increase over the previous year.

Meanwhile, Jang Keun Suk’s new film costarring Kim Ha Neul, You’re My Pet will premiere on November 10.
