SHINee Ticket Sales Shut Down Server in England
Tickets to SHINee’s concert in England are selling so fast, it′s caused the venue’s systems server to go down.
SHINee will hold gala concert SHINee in London to open the 6th London Korean Film Festival at the Odeon West End Cinema on November 3. Tickets for the concert went on sale via Odeon’s online reservation systems on October 27.
However, the system went down within a minute of the tickets going on sale, and it remained down for five hours, making it impossible not only to purchase tickets to SHINee’s concert but for other shows as well. As a result, fans had to reserve tickets by phone or purchase them in person.
A source from the group’s agency SM Entertainment said, “The fans’ support has been hot since June, when we held a showcase at the Abbey Road Studio, which was a first for any Asian singer. Because that was a private concert, this concert marks the first time we will be meeting fans from England. The iconic quality of the k-pop craze in Europe was made apparent through the advanced ticket sales.
“This is the first time Odeon’s system has gone down because of advanced ticket sales,” continued the rep. “We didn’t know people would purchase the tickets all at once like this.”
The group is the first Korean idol group to hold an independent concert in London, having received a special invitation from the film festival.
SHINee is expected to perform hit songs Nuna, You’re So Pretty, Juliette, Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer at the concert. The boys are set to leave for London on November 1.
