Open World Entertainment Rep Sentenced to Six Years in Prison
Mr. Jang, the agency rep who got in trouble for sexually assaulting aspiring celebrities, was given a jail sentence of six years.
The sentence was delivered at the final trial held on August 10.
The justice department also ordered personal information of Jang to be made public for five years, and for him to attend 40 hours of rape therapy programs.
Jang turned in a petition on July 12 and a letter of apology on July 18 to ask for favorable treatment, but the prosecution demanded a nine-year jail sentence for Jang nevertheless in the trial held on July 19, saying that the crime he had committed was a serious one.
Jang was first arrested on April 10 by undercover police for raping and sexually assaulting the trainees signed with his agency from November 2010 to March 2012.
