The four-member group Skarf announced its upcoming debut with a teaser video.

Alpha Entertainment Korea released on August 9 a teaser of Skarf’s debut single Oh! Dance. The group plans to step away from the electronic sounds and wild styles currently full in K-Pop to take a different approach with its warm and bright songs.

The 15 second teaser video definitely proves this aim with sensual videos and unique music. The image of the four members standing in a forest shrine on a stage decorated with flowers, is especially reminiscent of the pure 1st generation idols S.E.S or Fin.K.L, heightening anticipation for the birth of a new ‘pure idol’ to follow in their footsteps.

The group also stands out as it has members from both Singapore and Korea.

A rep from the group’s agency said, “It’s unprecedented to bring Singaporean members to K-Pop, and so the group is gathering attention not only from Korea, but also from Singapore.”

The name ‘Skarf’ was derived from the ‘S’ for ‘Singapore’ and ‘K’ for ‘Korea’, as well as the word ‘scarf’ to mean it will perform music that can be ‘worn’ comfortably by anyone. The group also aims to take over Asia by bringing Korea and Singapore closer together.

The group plans to launch its full-fledged promotions from August 14 with its showcase in Korea.
