Paulo Coelho used Tiger JK’s words to express how touched he was by the soccer match between Britain and Korea. In the morning between August 4 and 5, Korea won against Britain after a series of penalty kicks in the Olympic Games, making it to the semi-finals.

After the game, Tiger JK tweeted, ‘Bam Barabambam. Applause. Hard work. Tears. It’s so much fun.’

Paulo Coelho then used Tiger JK’s tweet in Korean to express his emotions on his own Twitter about the game, mentioning the star in the tweet.

After learning that Paulo Coelho had tweeted him, Tiger JK cheered, ‘Wow, teacher Paulo Coelho congratulates us also, yay.’

The two then conversed for a short while in English, with Tiger JK first saying, ‘thank you sir. Next Brasil vs Korea. I love both team [sic]! It′s going to be crazy!!! Much love!!’ and Paulo Coelho answering, ‘thank you for being my teacher! In Brasil x S. Korea I will teach you also,’ seemingly referring to how Tiger JK had ‘taught’ him Korean.

Netizens have joined in the conversation, saying, ‘I’m thankful that Coelho is happy for Korea’s victory like he loves Korea’, ‘He must be really close with Tiger JK’ and ‘Korea will be meeting Brazil in the semi-finals, that’s so sad.’ The game between Korea and Brazil will take place on August 8.

Paulo Coelho is a globally renowned best-selling writer, and wrote such pieces as Brida, The Alchemist and Veronika Decides to Die. He is well known for his interest in Korea, even following Super Junior’s Choi Siwon on Twitter.
