On June 7, Jellyfish Entertainment announced the debut of their first girl group through their official homepage. This will be the company′s first debut since VIXX′s debut 4 years ago and will mark their first ever girl group.
The announcement has especially gained attention as Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina, who appeard on the popular Mnet audition program Produce 101, will be included as members.
Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina appeared on Produce 101 as they were training under Jellyfish to debut in a girl group. The pair were selected as 2 of the final 11 members and are now a part of the girl group I.O.I. Both Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina worked very hard under I.O.I until their last official stage performance on June 4 during Dream Concert.
Following the end of their official promotions with I.O.I on June 4, the pair plans to prepare for their debut. Jellyfish has the experience of debuting 6 member boy group VIXX in January 2012 and they plan to utilize their knowledge of producing a successful group to debut their first girl group.
