Apink′s Jung Eun Ji Ranks One in Album Sales

Jung Eun Ji released her first solo album Dream with title track Hopefully Sky on April 18. The title track has since reached number one on all music charts and with her album also reaching number one in record sales, both her title track and album are showing their success.

Hopefully Sky is especially strengthening Jung Eun Ji as a female solo artist by continuously holding a place on top music charts.

After receiving positive attention with the online version of her album, Jung Eun Ji released her solo album Dream through offline stores and the popularity of the online album carried over.

The demand for Dream was so high even before it’s official offline release that 30,000 albums sold as soon as preorders were available and 20,000 more albums went into production.

The number one ranking is especially valuable because it surpassed BTS, Lee Hi, Seventeen, Twice and the Descendants of the Sun OST. It showed her potential to succeed, not as Apink, but as a solo artist.

Jung Eun Ji showed her maturity from idol to artist by being involved in composing and writing the title track Hopefully Sky and brought a refreshing sound to the music industry with the folk song genre.

Hopefully Sky is a folk song sung with Jung Eun Ji’s warm voice and includes acoustics in the melody. It is an emotional song that tells the memories of Jung Eun Ji with her father in her childhood.

Meanwhile, Eun Eun Ji is preparing for her stage on Mnet’s M COUNTDOWN.
