Twice Sweeps Music Charts on First Day
Girl group Twice (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu) has revealed that they shed tears while hugging when they ranked number one on music charts after releasing their new song.
On April 25, Twice showcased their new mini album Page Two and performed their title track Cheer Up for the first time at the Yes24 Live Hall.
After the performance, Twice was asked how they felt about the news that Cheer Up has ranked number one on the music charts and Jihyo responded by saying, “Thank you for loving us so much more than we imagined.”
Jihyo also stated, “I think I have to try much harder as a way to thank you” and, “If we win first place on a music show, it would be fun to go on stage with our individual concept outfits we revealed through our music videos.”
Chaeyoung said, “Jeongyeon cried when we reached number one” and Nayeon stated, “We hugged each other and cried. It was an emotional night.”
Twice captured the attention of journalists as they performed a remake of Precious Love, the first remake in 18 years, for their first song. Afterwards they performed the charming title track Cheer Up, which is a color pop dance song that combines the hip hop, tropical house and drum and bass genres
