[bnt interview] Seo Kang Joon With His State of Mind ′Impossible Is Nothing′

Seo Kang Joon had deep eyes and seemed like various thoughts even after his drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’. Rather than his detailed responses, I could just assume what is in his minds through his words and faces.

Recently, bntnews had an interview with Seo Kang Joon after his drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’ and revealed his honest sides.

His character Baek Inho in the drama is an old friend of Yoo Jung (Park Hae Jin), who is a tragic pianist, and played details of a hurt person with rough behaviors. Moreover, he also perfectly depicted a love triangle with Hong Sul (Kim Go Eun).

“My way of thinking is pretty similar to Inho, which is thinking outside of the box. Anyhow, people judge me, but I just want to be honest, even when I meet people. I think Inho tried to reveal himself as much as possible.”

Baek Inho had his own time after he got a hand injury, which is very fatal to his pianist life. However, his attitude caring of his sister Baek Inha (Lee Sung Kyung) was pretty reliable. Although they spent unhappy youths together, Baek Inho and Inha are different. Seo Kang Joon said, “The two people didn’t grow up in the same background.”

“Inho and Inha, of course, they grew up together, but their characteristics are very different. So, when they had struggles, they had different ways of dealing with it. Inho tried to endure, but Inha tried to avoid it and her shelter was Yoo Jung’s parents.”

“Inho kept wandering around after he got a hand injury. I think that was the point where he grew up a lot more. He seems like he is immature, but his thoughts are pretty deeper than what people think.”

Baek Inho never left his love Hong Sul, but he never revealed his heart for her. He blushed his face when his feelings were slightly exposed, and sometimes, he regretted for his words. These elements are pretty familiar in dramas, but hardly to see in reality. Seo Kang Joon also mentioned that Baek Inho is a character that people can barely meet.

“It’s all different from people, but it was pretty unrealistic. If he does exist, it might be little creepy. Behaving different is like a character from cartoons. Living like him in reality, there are so many limits.”

“The most insane thing of Inho is expressing exactly what he thinks. If he wants to get angry, he gets mad, kicks and even breaks a car. If I can do all of those for real, I might be in a jail already. Baek Inho only can seem like a honest, free soul and frank person in the drama.”

On the other hand, Seo Kang Joon wanted to learn Baek Inho’s memory or how to let it go. In fact, Inho got mad at something, but on the next day, he acted like nothing happened. This isn’t realistic as well, but Seo Kang Joon thought it is a lesson that requires in a lifetime.

“Inho expresses very roughly, but he has no feelings in his words. He is a person that I can be a friend easily. As a man or a friend, that side is a big strength for him.”

Baek Inho, who was melted down in Seo Kang Joon, got to leave Seo Kang Joon as the drama ends. All the actors have struggles in forgetting their characters as they all-in. However, Seo Kang Joon seemed like he was very cool on saying goodbye with his character and it made him look like Inho.

“I think I’m able to distinguish actor Seo Kang Joon and Seo Kang Joon. There are efforts and outcomes that I have to show as an actor. For my fans, I want to show better sides, but Seo Kang Joon isn’t that different. But, I’m sure I feel more comfortable when I’m with my family and members.”

“I changed my hair color to black. I used to have brown hair all the time, but I looked different in black hair. It feels like I left Inho for real. It feels like I’m waving my hands to Inho, who’s walking far away from me. It’s sad, but I need to say goodbye to him.”

An issue becomes big at once just like a mountain burns down in fire and the issue makes a person’s sincere heart down. After everything’s gone, there is nothing you can take it back even it wasn’t true. Seo Kang Joon was waiting for the time until the fire goes away and he was learning the most silent and painful way.

He said, “Don’t get too greedy, simple is the best” to Baek Inho. Maybe he was wishing to be normal as an actor, which isn’t hard at all for the job. I’m sure that it is impossible to be simple, but the mass public would be wondering how he depicts that impossibility.

“Personally, I don’t care about other elements, even for a little thing. Although I get hurt from them, I’m different with other people care about other things. Even when I act, but my satisfaction is my priority and the mass public and I will get satisfied until I get satisfied with my efforts.”
