‘Monster Rookie’ iKON Captures Japan
iKON is receiving trenmendous popularity from its Japan Arena Tour. It entered Budokan ‘The Holy Land of Concert in Japan’ in a short period of time as a foreign artist and proved its ability as a ‘Monster Rookie.’
On January 13, the group ranked first on Oricon Daily Album Chart with its Japanese debut album WELCOME BACK and drew attention from the public. On February 15, it held the Arena Tour in Nippon Budokan. The group continued setting its new record by becoming the fastest artist to get on stage of Budokan.
The concert was full of heated-up atmosphere with 13,000 audiences even before it was started. The group came up to the stage by receiving enthusiastic acclamations from fans. It performed RHYTHM TA, MY TYPE, AIRPLANE, APOLOGY and others in its album WELCOME BACK and SINOSIJAK, Wait and others that it released before its debut.
iKON said “We are thankful to come on the stage of Budokan in such a short period of time and it is all because of our fans.” The group showed its overwhelmed feeling by saying, “We are so glad to hold the performance here where we can feel the history.”
The group started its tour at Fukuoka Global Arena on February 11. It performed at Nippon Budokan on February 15. It will perform at Nippon Budokan on February 16, at Kobe World Memorial Hall on Febuary 20 and 21, at Makuhari Messe Event Hall on March 12 and 13, at Osaka-Jo Hall on March 15 and others. The group will have total of 14 performances in five different cities of Japan.
Moreover, on March 30, the new album WELCOME BACK -COMPLETE EDITION- will be released. This album is going to contain Japanese version of DUMB&DUMBER, WHAT’S WRONG?, I Miss You So Bad, RHYTHM TA (ROCK VER) and Japan original version of ANTHEM.
Meanwhile, iKON successfully completed its solo concert ‘iKONCERT 2016 SHOWTIME TOUR’ at Seoul Gymnastic Stadium on January 30 and 31. The group will hold its concert in Daegu on February 27 and in Busan on March 5 for the fans have missed the Seoul concert.
