4Minute’s ‘Hate’ Enters Top 10 on Asian Music Charts
Girl group 4Minute’s new song Hate is winning attention from global music lovers.
On February 2, Hate, the title song of its 7th mini album, became one of the top 10 songs of ‘TOP SONG Chart’ on iTunes in six Asian countries. It was only a day after its release.
4Minute ranked third on Malaysian chart, fourth in Hong Kong, fifth in Ukraine, ninth in Singapore and tenth in Taiwan. The other artists on the list included Adele and Rihanna. Moreover, its album Act.7 entered ‘TOP ALBUM Chart’ in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
The group also topped ‘K-Pop V-chart’ of Yinyuetai, a Chinese music video provider, for three consecutive days, which proved the group’s popularity in the region. Also, the members’ names and ‘I HATE YOU’ were on Twitter’s ‘Trend’ list.
4Minute’s title song Hate is a hip hop EDM song jointly made by DJ Skrillex, composer Seo Jae Woo and Sohn Young Jin. Its lyrics portray the desperate feelings of a woman who intuitively realized that she will soon have to face a breakup. The fickle melodies and catchy chorus adds charisma to the music.
Meanwhile, 4Minute will perform Hate for the first time on television on MBC Music Show Champion.
