Block B′s Zico Shares Thoughts on Beating Psy on Music Charts
Block B′s Zico shared his thoughts on his new song topping music charts.
Zico held a showcase to celebrate the release of his first solo mini album Gallery at the iRiver Stradeum in Seoul′s Itaewon on December 7, where he was asked, "You beat Psy for the number one spot on music charts. How do you feel?"
Zico said, "I was confident in regards to my music. But with so many outstanding people out there, I was worried. Contrary to my concerns, I think a lot of people are showing love, so I was able to fall asleep with a happy heart."
Zico has launched into promotions with the release of his first mini album Gallery at midnight on December 7. Although Zico has released solo singles in the past, this is his first time releasing a mini album. The mini album includes a total of six tracks, including double title songs Gallery and Eureka as well as Pride and Prejudice, Boys and Girls and Day. Eureka, in particular, shot to the top of music charts as soon as it was released, beating out Psy′s and Taetiseo′s recently-released songs.
Zico said, "I put songs in the album with the thought that I′m recording my thoughts or the emotions I was feeling at the time. I wanted to communicate with the public through the window of music. The album contains six tracks, and if you listen to it with the thought that you′re viewing an exhibition, I think each track will arouse a different feeling."
