[2015 MAMA] Su Ho Says EXO Will Gratefully Accept Whatever Award They′re Given
EXO stated it would gratefully accept any award, big or small.
EXO met with local and Korean media outlets at the 2015 MAMA welcome press conference, held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on December 2, ahead of the day′s main event.
EXO′s Su Ho and Chen, who attended the press conference, received a warm welcome from local reporters.
Su Ho said, "We′ve been coming to MAMA since we debuted in 2012. It′s an honor to be able to stand on stage with great senior and junior singers as well as famous artists from around the world every year. It′s a great opportunity and fun festival for us."
When they were asked which award they′d like to receive this year, Su Ho said, "There isn′t any of that ′We want this or that award.′ We worked hard this year, and because we received a lot of love from the fans and the public, I wonder if we′ll receive an award befitting of that. Big or small, we′ll gratefully accept whatever award we′re given."
Chen added, "We still feel the weight of the awards we′ve received. If we receive an award at this year′s MAMA, I wonder if it′ll be another stepping stone for us to grow another level. We will work hard to be the EXO that is befitting of the award."
Meanwhile, MAMA is CJ E&M′s billboard Asian music festival in its seventh year running. It began as the Mnet KM Music Video Festival in 1999, growing together with Korea′s music industry over 10 years, before becoming MAMA in 2009. MAMA began its global advancement in Macau in 2010 before moving to Singapore in 2011 then Hong Kong from 2012 to 2014, becoming more than just a year-end award ceremony and establishing itself as the biggest music festival and global communication channel for people from all over the world to enjoy and spread mainstream music in Asia.
This is the fourth time the award ceremony is being held in Hong Kong. MAMA selected Hong Kong because the city is not only where diverse cultures coexist but a culture industry hub and easily accessible geographically from all across Asia.
